Dr. Maya Lane, an English language educator and curriculum and instruction specialist since 1991, is the creator and Program Director of the NicerFL Social Mentorship “Buddy” program for refugees and new immigrants. She believes mentorship is essential for fostering belonging, building connections, and helping newcomers navigate cultural and social challenges. Dedicated to breaking down barriers and empowering individuals, Dr. Lane has extensive experience in helping immigrants and refugees thrive in their new communities.
