Join NicerFL Welcome Centers!

Our integration programs give you the chance to meet new people, find information, practice English, and explore what Pinellas and Sarasota have to offer.

We have a dedicated program coordinator and wonderful volunteers to support you along the way.

Become independent in your new home!

Join us to learn about life in the United States and Florida! In our group sessions or with a friendly mentor, you’ll discover important cultural information:

• Local customs and traditions.

• Your rights and responsibilities as a resident.

• How to access healthcare and education.

• Navigating public transportation.

• Understand community resources.

If English feels challenging, don’t worry!  We’ll find a volunteer who speaks your langauge to help you.  You’ll learn English while learning important information!

Learn English!

• In-Person Sessions: Join our free small group beginner classes and intermediate conversation partners with volunteer tutors at NicerFL centers.

• Social Activities: Practice your English through fun activities and with your buddy or mentor.

• Additional Resources: We provide information on other places to learn English for free, like adult schools, community colleges, and libraries.

• Online Learning: For those unable to attend in person, we offer online tutors and access to free learning programs and websites.

• For Kids: We also provide English learning for new immigrant children through small groups, educational games, individual tutoring, and art and music sessions at our Welcome Centers in Sarasota, Tampa, and Pinellas.

Prepare for work or school

• If you’re looking to continue your studies or need guidance on using your foreign diploma, we’re here to assist you.

• For parents, we provide information on finding schools for your children, including the necessary documents and resources for their education.

• If you’re preparing for work, we can help you explore job opportunities, write applications and resumes, and understand the local work culture.

• If you need more informationon any of these topics, don’t hesitate to contact us, we’re here to help!

Family education and resources.

If you’re a refugee, TPS holder, asylum seeker, parolee, or other immigrant, NicerFL is here to help you settle in smoothly. We offer:

• Information on the the refugee settlement process.

• Connections to local refugee agencies.

• Information on eligible benefits.

• Education sessions on health, banking, renting, and transportation.

• Information for emergency needs, including food banks and shelters.

Whatever you need, we’re here to assist you every step of the way!
