Mary Carroll

Volunteer Coordinator - Sarasota

My name is Mary Carroll. I am a retired community college
teacher and licensed mental health professional. I recently
moved here from Orlando and was looking to find an
organization dedicated to educating, mentoring and
creating community for new immigrants. I consider it a
privilege and a blessing to be a small part of NicerFl., who
is truly making a difference in the lives of so many.

Ellie Wojtkowitz

Volunteer Coordinator - Pinellas Park

When I initially began volunteering with NicerFL, it was in a virtual capacity in tutoring our Advanced ESOL learners through Zoom. I have more recently been able to tutor students in-person in Pinellas County, which has also been enriching and fun. Each week the experience of tutoring
immigrants impressed upon me how lucky I am to learn from them.
